If this is old news or already posted on this forum I apologize for the duplicate post, I didn't see anything when I searched the site.

Ford is finally going to fix the 2015-2017 rear camera with a new harness. The parts should be coming in this fall. Also, for some 2015 Mustangs there is a stop lamp recall that I just got done myself yesterday at Ford.

Yup, I got the letter from Ford about the camera recall a while ago. If course I had the camera replaced under warranty, so I'm in no hurry.

Anyone else's trunk stop opening? I was hoping this recall would take care of that as well as the terrible backup camera video quality

I also had the back up camera wire harness in October, 2022. Mine is a very low mile 2017 Ecoboost Premium Convertible.

I used a few butt connectors to temporarily fix the issue. If you open the trunk, and follow the wire harness that comes down the passenger side of the trunk lid you'll find the broken wires. Or, at least it was very obvious to me because it was "fixed" by the dealer back in '17. Now my backup camera is working and the trunk opens. Just an FYI for anyone else.
