AC dead...again.

When it rains, it pours.

Was running errands with both the wife and the kid in the Mustang, while she was getting a new set of tires. Hot day out. Upon return to the tire center, I left the wife and the kid in the car with the engine running and the AC on. When I got back inside the car, the AC was no longer cool. The wife said she touched nothing, and that all of a sudden it went from cold to blah, just like that. Not good. Went outside, popped the hood, put a screwdriver the high-pressure release, and nothing. Not good. Seems like I lost all refrigerant, just like that.

I obviously have a bad leak somewhere.

The AC evaporator was replaced under warranty many years back. If it turns out to be that PIECE again, do I have any recourse for them to fix it "under warranty" again, or no?

Also, what's my best bet for a bit better self diagnosis? I've heard about some dye that you can get to spray into the system, to see where the leak is coming from? Would you all recommend that? Y'all know what to ask for at the auto parts store?

Thanks for the help in advance.

No. It pops right out with the radiator still in place. The only things you have to move out of the way are the coolant overflow tank, and your air intake.
Thank you i appreciate the help, i was able to change it out
Hit a small bump 3 months in having my CVF race IC on Saturday and yup.. condenser leaked and blew some smoke out.. I'm at 33k miles. Going to try my luck tomorrow at the dealer.. I'm 99% sure they're going to deny it but won't hurt to try as I have the 1234yf and I don't want to spend 1k+ right now. But living in Texas and impending doom is around the corner I'm going to need that cool air.

I have the base eco so I don't have any of the performance braces. But really, what is the ACTUAL solution to this problem? Is it really just slowing down on inclines and bumps?? The roads here in Houston are horrendous. I love my race IC but I just don't want to go through this again in just a few months.
There must be a way to make up some spacers that can go between the condenser and IC. On the edges somewhere, maybe gluing some firm foam or rubber (like 3/8” maybe) between them, just to keep them from rubbing.

Once I get my condenser replaced I'm going to stop by the performance shop he said he'll attempt to put spacers if not weld it to give it space. We'll see what happens but any other advise I would appreciate.

You may want to have brackets made up to securely mount to top part of IC to some part of the top of the core support so that it is supported at 4 points instead of just the bottom two mounting points so no contact can occur.
