When did they stop adding paddle shifters to the automatic? My 2017 base model has them. I wouldve thought all of them had it.

My 2022 Eco convertible doesn't have them. They deleted the plastic pretty cover for the engine as well. When did they stop adding paddle shifters to the automatic? My 2017 base model has them. I wouldve thought all of them had it.
I can see deleting the engine cover because that just traps heat, but the paddle shifters? That reminds me of when Ford was on their manic "de-contenting" phase earlier this century, even to the extent of taking away the lights from the power window switches. My 2022 Eco convertible doesn't have them. My 2022 Premium didn’t come with them either. I bought a steering wheel out of a 22 GT and transferred the harness, back plate and paddles on to my steering wheel and everything works great. This question has been posed before but I didn’t see a definitive answer. Found this.

No, both Tune+ and PD Tuning can still custom tune without them. You can also run OTS tunesAre the paddle shifters needed if you want to tune the car?
My 2022 Premium came with them. However, my 2018 Premium came with the front blinker/fogs and my 2022 Premium came with blinker/no fogs. WTF! Not counting the missing chip in the SYNC3 from the factory, so no hotspot. My 2022 Premium didn’t come with them either.
