Opinions on the best product for keeping the splitter black plastic trim and rocker panel black plastic trim looking new. I was thinking of the Chemical Guys VRP plastic shine and protectant. I have been using Mother's Back to Black but it fades fairly quick.
Thanks in advance.

I am not a fan of dressings or shines on the matte black trim pieces as I think those products contribute to premature greying. I use Duragloss car wash and make sure I don’t use any degreasers or harsh cleaners on those trim pieces or in inner fender wells. Chemical guys VRP is a good product nonetheless I don’t know it would last much longer than the mothers. Duragloss has one too I use on my 1999 F350 trim pieces because it’s, well 24 years old 😉

Has anyone tried the expensive Trim Serum Plastic/Vinyl restorer. It costs $37.00 for 16 oz. but the claim is that it lasts longer than other products. It has the consistency of honey and a little goes a long way. Not cheap, that's for sure. A lot of very positive reviews.

I usually just use my matte finish tire shine on the plastics as well. Just spray it on a microfibre and put that on the plastics. I like chemical guys tire kicker tire shine. It dries and doesn’t sling on the tires, and has uv blockers. Once I’m done the trim I then do the tires and use the same microfibre to rub it in.

Whatever you do don’t do the “TikTok hack” of using a torch or heat gun to restore plastics. It will make them blacker but will make the plastics way more brittle and give it a wavy finish when it goes back to grey since the heat destroys any uv protection it had

CQuartz DLUX is what I use. It's a bit expensive but the little bottle did my wheels twice and all the trim once. I was really impressed with how well it worked on the trim, it's been on there two years now and still looks like new. It really brought the shine back.

I generally use the Chemical Guys VRP but also use their Tire Kicker shine too. Works great. When it dries it has a non greasy look and is not overly shiny. Another good one is Stoner Trim Shine.
