EcoBoost to GT brakes

Just completed my GT brake upgrade yesterday and it was easy and looks awesome. Bought almost new GT calipers off EBay, brakes rotors from Advance Auto and stainless steel brake lines from LMR.com. Painted calipers with G2 paint and high temp stencils then applied high temp clear coat paint.

Bleeding the brakes was quick and easy and couldn’t be happier.

I did the same thing about a month ago except I didn’t paint the calipers. It was probably one of the “biggest bang for the buck“ upgrades I have done so far.

What types of rotors, brakes, and calipers did you guys use and what did the price come out to? I've been looking around for about 2 months and haven't pulled the trigger yet because I'm a little indecisive on which parts are high priced vs high quality. I don't need or want a $5000 brake kit, but a $600 front and rear kit sounds sketchy lol.

2015-2020 Ford Mustang GT Front Brake and Caliper SET - OEM | eBay

I bought my brake rotors from Advance Auto

My calipers came with brake lines but I installed stainless brake lines instead

The calipers I bought had very little miles on them so I used the pads that came with them.

did you need to swap out the master cylinder for these bigger brakes? or just the lines?

I think you only need to swap master cylinder if you go to GT PP brakes, standard GT are okay with Ecoboost master.

No, not for the four piston calipers. Brake lines came with my almost new calipers but I decided to use stainless lines instead.

I've run the GT PP calipers without changing the master cylinder and zero problems on my previous 2018 EcoBoost.

Found some Ebay takeoffs and refreshed. Decided the VHT Blue would work well with the Carbonized Gray of my 2022. Once I get new wheels I will be upgrading to these on my 2022. Unfortunately my current OEM wheels lack about 1/8" of clearance to mount these.
