P0300 code at ~1600 miles, service appointment made, will be a PCM update and we'll see if any other software updates are available while it's in. Will report back when completed.

I just finished a Twitter conversation with Ford Service, got a Case# and awaiting word from the assigned CSM. I wasn't thrilled that my dealer told me the earliest they could help me was September 8th so out to social media I went.

Question: for folks getting the CEL P0300, what octane rating have most been using? Just curious.

Just off the phone with the regional Ford CSM who is going to work with my dealer to get my EB in sooner, get me a loaner, and make certain the dealer knows about the tech service bulletin and PCM update related to the P0300 issue. I'll be talking to the dealer's Service Director shortly and will update once I get my EB in and updated.

As an aside, any out there on here with actual access at FordEtis home page ? I can see top-level info (like software updates) once I input my VIN but since I'm not "an independent automotive-related service or repair business".

TSB 15-0097 performed yesterday at dealer after engaging Ford Service/CSM, so instead of waiting two weeks to get my EB in for the PCM update I waited four hours.

ISSUE:
Some 2015 Mustang vehicles equipped with a 2.3L EcoBoost engine and manual transmission built on or after 12/20/2014 and through 5/21/2015 may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with DTCs P0300 and/or P0316 with no drivability concerns.
ACTION:
Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 95.05 and higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Calibration files may also be obtained at Motorcraft Technical Resource

Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage And Emissions Warranty Coverage.
