Hi all, I'm new here. Purchased my 2019 EcoBoost with 10 speed auto and performance package in July. Have about 2800 miles on it. I was curious if anyone could identify if this is a normal sound for EcoBoost engines as the clicking sounds out of place to me. almost like how a diesel engine would sound.
This engine is equipped with a high pressure mechanical fuel pump and high pressure injectors that spray fuel directly into the combustion chambers, diesel engines share this same fuel design.
The injectors and cam driven fuel pump will make a lot more noise than the old port injector with electric fuel pump design.
Awesome, thank you for the reply slojas. glad to hear this is normal. I have never owned a mustang before, this is my first. I also noticed the transmission oil temp will run up to about 197-200 degrees after a bit of driving. Is this typically where these cars hover around?
Thanks for all of the replies and info. I've been probably driving the car harder than I should being so new so was worried that I may have caused some issues when I heard the engine and saw the transmission oil temp running so high. It seems all is well however. That is always a good thing. I've never thought I would be this excited about a 4 cylinder car but this certainly changed my mind about 4's.
No worries. I put a new Mishimoto Intercooler, cat-less down pipe and a Cobb Stage 2 tune on my car when it had only about 1000 miles. If you're beating on your car with it completely stock, you're not going to hurt anything.
Good to know.. Haha It's hard not to want to open it up. Love the acceleration timer on it. I've still yet to get a good time, the best yet is 5.7 0-60. I am hesitant however to open it up on the freeway. I know it can get to 145 however I think the driveshaft on this is a 2piece if I am not mistaken. Not sure why it would be, I have not been able to get a good view underneath to verify but when I look on ford Parts for the vehicle VIN the driveshaft they have shown is a 2 piece. What I am hoping to do is get the ford performance tune to keep the warranty in tact and upgrade the driveshaft to a 1 piece shaft provided that it really is a 2 piece.
