Issues connecting radium baffle plate to UPR DVCC

3842 Views 34 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Buldawg76
Hey, guys so my OEM PCV valve leaks so I bought a radium baffle plate. However, the 5/8" UPR hose (DVCC) connecting to the new radium 10AN ORB PCV Valve doesn't fit.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Help lol.

Thank you!

So did you call Radium about being able to buy the part # 14-193 10 ORB- 5/8" barb to replace the 3/8" barb fitting in your plate now. Now that I see pics that would be the easiest route to go, but the way you have it now with 3/8" to 5/8" using a splice barb is just fine as well.

Maybe down the road you may want to upgrade to the 14-193 radium barb fitting.

Glad you got it worked out.

Sorry for the late reply. I finally got a picture of my Radium plate and how the UPR supplied hose connects to the PCV valve. It connects directly to the valve without any reducers or adaptors. I haven't had any issues with how it's connected.

Looks good and should be good to go for sure.

Hey sorry for the late reply. I called but they didn't provide much on that lol. But right now it is fine. Runs good.

That what I wanted to do initially, but I was afraid it would slip off
As long as it is secure and not seeping any oil from reducer hose connections you should be all good.

It seems like there are 2 different solutions to the same problem in this thread... My UPR DVCC came with hoses that are clearly marked ⅝".

Also noticed that Radium sells this baffle plate either separately (20-0327-02), or as part of a kit that includes one 10AN ORB plug and a PCV valve (20-0327-01). I suppose it's the kit that I should get, right?

The Radium plate system is a nice way to go, especially with the UPR catch can! I just went for cheap and fast, will probably upgrade in the future.

If I ever have to remove/replace the baffle plate I will upgrade to the radium plate but until then my factory plate and PCV are doing fine.

OP hasn't been on here in nearly a year, but I'm wondering why his UPR dual valve catch can had 5/8" hoses... Pretty sure mine are 1/2", as printed right on the hose.

So I'll use a section of the Radium-supplied 3/8" hose to connect to Radium's 10AN ORB PCV Valve w/ 3/8" barb, and then cut the quick-connector off my UPR hose  and connect the 3/8" hose to the 1/2" hose with one of these... Am I ok with plastic?

You should be good as long as you place the connector between the UPR check valve and the radium plate on the intake side so it never sees the boost pressure from the intake charge.

I placed my check valve 2" from the intake quick connector so nothing between it and the PCV valve connection ever sees any boost pressure.

Hmmm, you're saying I need an additional check valve? The Radium "kit" includes a PCV valve (supposedly better than the OEM valve) that installs in the plate.

I saw in another thread that the UPR check valve you installed is actually serving as your PCV. Since I'm already going to use the Radium-provided 10AN ORB PCV Valve in my Radium baffle plate, I'm not sure I want to install a second check valve in that same line. Is your concern about boost pressure in regards to using a connector to join the 3/8" and 1/2" lines, and the possibility that the pressure could cause them to become disconnected?

That radium check valve will do the job as well and serve as PCV valve also. My reason and concern for placing the UPR 100 psi check valve just 2" from the intake quick connecter is to prevent any positive boost pressure in the charge pipes/intake from be able to pressurize the hoses and catch can when under boost. With the check valve/PCV at the radium plate when under boost your hoses and catch can will see what ever boost the turbo is sending into the intake and engine.

Just my preference to keep all boost in charge pipes and intake not the catch can and its hoses.

I have a JLT catch can with a UPR check valve installed as well as stock PCV valve still intact in stock PCV plate so have two means to prevent boost from entering the catch can/hoses from intake boost and crankcase positive pressure from entering past PCV valve and also have an oil fill cap one way breather in valve cover to vent positive crankcase pressure to atmosphere.
