I did all that plus added the Pedder's poly trans mount to mine. Still hated the way the MT82 felt, so I went back to an A10. Problem solved. LOL

LOLSince getting my 'stang a year ago, I've been on a quest to make shifting less hideous. I've replaced the clutch spring, put in a short throw shifter, and replaced the shifter bushing with the heavy duty Steeda bushing. All I think I need to do now is swap out the trans fluid for a quality synthetic. Anyone here have any favorites? Seems there are many choices, but I just want to smooth out that 2nd to 3rd shift, especially when it's cold.
Steeda 555 7092 Mustang Shifter Base Bushing Bracket Kit (15-22) is what I got that really tightened the gates (along with new shifter) up. Between the two, it really made the vague shifting go away, along with no increase in NVH.This is what I run and it made a big difference in getting rid of the notchieness of 2nd gear shifts.

It even comes with a pump and cup to help measure out the right amount. This reminds me that I'm due for a change.
I also have this FTBR shift bracket, it made a huge improvement. Bolts the shifter to the trans and ditches the stock shifter brace that mounts to the body. It's cheap and easy to install; but, it wont work with aftermarket shifters like MGW or Barton.
The biggest difference is the shifter brace I linked ditches the factory and that Steeda brace all together and instead bolts the shifter to the trans. It makes a big difference in high RPM shifting.Steeda 555 7092 Mustang Shifter Base Bushing Bracket Kit (15-22) is what I got that really tightened the gates (along with new shifter) up. It's been fine for me with the few minor tweaks. Hell my parent's have a 2011 with 215K miles on their MT82.I remember back in September 2022 Ford promising us the Tremec. Now you have to order a Dark Horse to get a Tremec. They are still using those boat anchor MT82's, even in the GT's. Its embarrassing how cheaply Ford treats us while raising prices beyond what is supposed to be an "every man's" aspirational sporty car. I know more people who got tired of their MT82 and traded for a Mustang with an A10 than I can shake a stick at. Having gotten into an S550 for the first time (an '18 GT) and going with the A10 because I wanted to drag race, when I got my '21 HPP with the stick, it was the one part of the car I really regretted. I guess I had to find out why so many people didn't like the MT82 for myself. Back to the A10 in my '23. No regrets. If Ford wasn't so cheap and gave all of us a Tremec, I woulda stuck with shifting my own gears. After owning several cars with the T56 Magnum, I know what a good manual transmission should feel like... and the MT82 isn't close to that experience. Between that, the video game screens and the pricing, its why I decided not to order a new S650 because flat out there ain't no way I'm dropping 70k on a Dark Horse. My dealer only got 1 DH allocation, and its gonna have a 10k ADM on top. Nope. Sorry Ford...
So you’re saying that the S650 will still get the unchanged from 2018 MT82?I remember back in September 2022 Ford promising us the Tremec. Now you have to order a Dark Horse to get a Tremec. Yeah, you get the MT82 on the new eco, GT. Only get the Tremec if you go Dark Horse (which is 70k plus ADM if you option it out). Ford lied about that during last September's reveal. Only the most expensive gets the Tremec. So you’re saying that the S650 will still get the unchanged from 2018 MT82?
So I have 3 quarts of Royal Purple Synchromax here now (in addition to 2 quarts of RP MaxGear for rear). The one thing I'm not clear on is whether they should have additive added to either or both for an MT82 and Ecoboost rear, and if so, how much (I have a bottle of the Ford additive).Since getting my 'stang a year ago, I've been on a quest to make shifting less hideous. I didn't use an additive when I tried RP (still have it in the rear - yeah, that sounds... weird). I remember reading about some people using additives for different brands and types, but can't recall anyone saying it was needed with the RP products. So I have 3 quarts of Royal Purple Synchromax here now (in addition to 2 quarts of RP MaxGear for rear).
