With the 100a package (base) there is no fancy changing color tachometer to act as a shift light.

Anyone thought of adding one, and if you have what product/procedure have you used? I've only found information on the V8/Coyote motor.

Supposedly (I've not seen it either) the tach changes to red when you hit the shift point. Settings are in the center screen.

Yes, the lighting in the tach turns red at the redline. Sure is noticeable at night but not during the day. I not sure it even happens if the lights aren't turned on. Also, if you have your instrument lights set to red it likely isn't noticeable.

Thanks Dave, seeing as how taking this car to redline has no benefit. Not being able to change the RPM on it would be basically useless. Makes me sad
You can change the setting (I believe) so it would be useful (if so).

The shift light glows in the tach red. I would assume it would be more visible with the green, white or blue (mine)..

FYI - a shift light can be added to any vehicle as long as you can find a place to mount it that appeals to you. It simply taps into the wiring at a specified point. I put one into my Subaru long ago and really liked it (but it was some time ago, so I am basing my "it's-a-snap" opinion on that experience. I don't see why it wouldn't be just as straightforward now, but YMMV)

Ideally I'd like to stuff it into a vent. Somewhere where it's out of sight when I'm not actually using it.

Was hoping to find a ecoboost driver that has hooked one up on our beast.

Same issue I have with the Shift light in the AP -- Not bright enough to use when on the track and not staring at the gauge.

That is what the plan is. Just need to figure where to tap for trigger signal.

Resarch "Holley Sniper", sells for about $130 and plugs into your test port.
