I had my 2019 on a road course, but haven't been to the drag strip yet. They were doing a TNT at one of the tracks so went up to get some passes in. I didn't change from the stock tune because I wanted some baseline data first.

I also didn't change the tires. I had my drag radials with me, but since it has been 2 years since I have gone to the track I missed my jack while packing the car! So carried the drag radials up, and just ran on the street tires. I could have probably borrowed a jack from someone, but decided to go completely stock for today.

One of my friends got a picture on the track for me.

I still need to figure out how to launch this car. And it took me three passes before I figured out the line lock.

Best pass was a 13.6 at 101. When I got back to the pits I realized that I had been running with the shifter in "D" rather than "S". Shifts were a lot harder once I put it in S, although time was about the same.

When I bought my 2020 10AT, I'm pretty sure that there were base cars without drive modes. I searched as to how to get drive modes without having to get a highly optioned car and discovered that option group 101A is the minimum requirement. I'm not certain.....

Yes, I have drag mode on this car. I have the performance package. I am in Michigan now. I was in North Carolina for 4 years and didn't get a chance to try any tracks there, so a little out of practice.

Just need to figure out how to launch this car. Wasn't able to get as many passes in as I wanted to find the best rpm for launch and whether to hit it full throttle or roll into it more.

In drag mode and S on the shifter it definitely was shifting much harder. Big difference from drag mode in D.

Killing AdvanceTrac? That should give you more push as well. It will require tweaking your launch more by modulating the throttle to control wheel spin though.

I launch at 1750 rpm in 1st gear and 2500 rpm in 2nd gear with my gear selector in S.
But I've been told that you can also launch at 2500 rpm with your gear selector in D.

Setting to "drag mode" turns off advance trac, unless there is another setting that can be accessed. I did have one launch where there was a lot of spin -- through the 60' I was going really fast on the speedometer, but not moving very fast! Had the worst 60' of the day on that pass.

You have to hold toggle up for 5 seconds to turn off AdvanceTrac in any mode you are in.

13.6 is pretty good for your first time! Try again this weekend, using drag mode with advanced traction control off!
Should get you in the low to mid 13 second range.

It's not my first time at the drag strip, just the first time with this car that I picked up in July with only 7,000 miles on it (previously drove a supercharged 2006, then a 3.7 with turbo 2013 that blew up 3 times, and then a 2017 EcoBoost). With a 60 of 2.081 on street tires I was pleasantly surprised. A little more seat time, some stickier tires, I will get the launch figured out on this one.

Sorry, I should of stated; "first time at the track with a new car".
I didn't think you were a newbie, already having a set of slicks, etc.
Keep us posted on your progress!!
