Anyone know why Ford recessed the windshield leaving that 1/2” metal return around it? Seems to me that’d make them ever so slightly less aerodynamic and in my Oxford White case, a total bug catcher.

My guess is that it has something to do with noise. Probably a cheaper way to reduce noise than using acoustic glass. Again, just a guess. May have nothing to do with it at all.

OEM is acoustic glass. Actually has it printed on it. At least it is on the PP sold here. Would take a picture but I've had my windshield changed and the new one don't have that or the Ford logo on it
