Low Fuel Pressure Sensor?

Hi there! I recently took my 17 ecoboost to the shop after my service engine light came on, and they told me it was due to the fuel pressure sensor -

has anyone else experienced this issue? I read somewhere that this was common with ford models not just the mustang.

My car only has 85k miles on it and I take extremely good care of of him.

also, could gasoline be the culprit? The service advisor said something about the gas being switched from winter to summer and that has cause several other cars to have the same issue which sounds like a lot of BS, in my opinion.

Will be curious what they charge you to swap it. It’s a 15 minute job and the sensor was well under $100 if I remember correctly
So they told me they replaced the fuel sensor and a fuel line…. Told me it was about a three hour job and they wanted to charge me $900 for all it. They had a discount and I paid 770.

What fuel line and why did they replace it?

You should have only needed the sensor replaced. There was a recall on a fuel line awhile back but not sure what line it was and what vehicles were affected.

I would ask for the old parts back and question them about fuel line recall and why they replaced your fuel line.

Oh wow didn’t know that! Do you happen to have the article? If you can find it post it here or I can do a search. They definitely didn’t say it was a recall lol

.... and now I get to commiserate with you. I just got my own call from the Ford dealer who diagnosed my problem as a shorted/bad "FCIM" Ford Control Interface Module or something like that, behind the console under the dashboard. I don't want to mess with figuring out how to remove the dash and etc to do the job, and so it's gonna cost me $1,091. But I live in Florida and have to have A/C so.... 🤷‍♂️
Ooooph bulldawg that’s awful. Yes A/C is needed!

I call bull$#!t. I paid $55 for a fuel sensor a couple of months ago and replaced it in 15 minutes. My heart goes out to you I don't know if you have any recourse.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why I still do everything I can to always do my own work on my vehicles. I currently have mine in for a diagnostic because my entire center stack column of controls quit working and I don't have the ability to diagnose the problem, so I'm gearing up some willingness to have to accept whatever they charge to get it fixed.... but anytime I can do a job, I do it.
Im about to learn if this continues lol
