Do I have the performance pack Mustang?

Hi

I finally have an opportunity to go out on the track next month so have been reading up on some of the features. I noted that in America there is the "stock" EB and then those with "performance pack?" (excuse me if I am understanding this wrong?). In any case, I found an article PRE-LAUNCH in South Africa which says that only the "performance pack" Mustangs will be sold here. I can't find any info from later and its not in the brochure or websites either, and I certainly wasn't offered different options when I bought it.

Is there an easy way to determine if my car is indeed it? Its the 2015-17 model. It came with the 19" Pirellis, am not sure if that is helpful???

Thanks
Haseena

Well, in Australia, The 2015 - 2017 EB was only sold with the "Performance pack"... No base EB like in the US.

So we get;

- 19" wheels & Pirelli P-Zero summer tires (255/40/19)
- 4-Piston front brakes (Same as the base GT ones in the USA)
- Bigger capacity radiator
- 3.55 diff
- Sports tuned suspension
- Bigger rear sway bar
- Stiffer springs

This maybe similar to the options you get in South Africa.

Not part of the performance package, but all our EB's come with;

- 8 inch touch screen
- Leather seats - 6 way electric.
- Heated & Electric fold in wing mirrors (and bigger than US models)
- 9 speaker Shaker audio system with digital radio & SYNC 3
- Sat Nav
- Dual zone aircon
- Heated & cooled front seats
- Auto dimming rear vision mirror
- Rear Fog light
- Spare tire
- Wheel lock nuts
- Alarm with cabin motion sensors

Wow, Australia pays more than we do but you sure got more than we do, I have a base model with the Performance Package but no leather, no auto dimming mirror, no dual zone cooling, no navigation system, no spare tire, and no wheel locks!! But a real bargain for $26,500.00!!

We certainly more pay but not really much more, considering the options we get.
But we are also paying for the Right Hand Drive version, and overseas shipping transport costs, but get a full 5 year factory warranty with unlimited kilometres. (Don't know if you get that in the US on new Stangs?)

To give you an idea of how much we pay...

I paid AUD$43,000 for a brand new one in June 2018 (2017 model by the time it got here, and after the backorders were filled).
That was about US$30,000 with the exchange rate at the time. (AUD$1 = 0.70 cents US)

So I paid about US$3,500 more than you, which is not bad considering the extras of leather seats, auto dimming mirror, dual zone aircon, navigation system, spare tire, and wheel locks. :)

Yeah and none of that active grill crap either

I would try and spot for the 4-Piston front brakes, it's the easiest part to spot that would give any benefit at a track.

It's possible different countries may receive parts that may seem like the car has the PP, and not other parts. (eg: Wheels).

I guess the instrument gauge that replaces the A/C vent is also a good clue.

And euro lights dont forget the euro lights

But we miss out on some nice goodies like;

- Remote start
- Garage opener on FOB
- Sequential flashers
- Red tail lights
- Pod gauges

:(

Sequence flashing can be enabled by forscan apparently

Hi all. Just an update. I reached out to the dealership, who confirmed that South Africa only has the PP. (I also checked the front brakes... 4 piston).
So in SA the Ecoboost automatic was 785000 Rands when I bought it... (Brand new). R15 to USD 1.... So about USD 55300... Before all the extras of course. The GT is now selling for close to a million Rand
