Caliper Covers

I know most everyone thinks that painted calipers are nicer than covers, including myself.... but caliper covers arent that bad right lol? They make the small brakes look a bigger and nice and clean (and red), but anyone that looks at it will know its just a cover so is it worth spending $224 for it? I'm just too lazy to paint the calipers myself haha

If i had the brembo's i would totally take the time to paint them, but unfortunately I bought 17" snow tires which I swap every winter, and brembos are 18" and up i believe.

So I just went ahead and ordered a set, because I dont have the time to clean & paint them all, but I'm hoping they dont end up looking cheesy

The gloss blacks are super nice! I was able to get a hold of the matte black ones at a super discount price, I think it was like $60 believe it or not. That's why I ended up pulling the trigger.

Nice job on these! I've enjoyed mine. Gotta be careful when you go in for wheel work. I've found that the service techs may 'bump' it and cause it to misalign. Make sure to fix it before getting going again or u can scratch the cover from the inside of the rim.

I picked up a duplicolor caliper paint kit the other day and did mine.
It is a brush on kit that is pretty easy to use just take off the wheels, mask the rotors, mix the special paint, brush it on.
The brush included in the kit is garbage and they dont give you much masking tape so pick up some spare small brushes of decent quality and some extra masking tape if you get the kit.

I think painted looks better, but some covers can also look good in the right color.

I haven't done either, but I don't care for the covers. If it were me, I would take the time to paint them.

Used G2 caliper paint for mine and had it color matched to the car. It wasn't too bad and damn sure cheaper than the color matched covers I was considering. Covers look pretty good and are easier to clean, but I would always worry about them rubbing on something.

I dont know if you have a PP car, but if you are base, I would recommend buy a set of GT takeoffs with hoses, paint them off car with the G2 paint, then swap 'em out. That is what I did, so the only down time was swapping out the calipers, rotors, and splash shields.
